OWNER/HEAD TEACHING ARTIST
Ms. Cassidy is the creative director and owner of Indigo Dance Collective. She is a professional dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist from Paducah, KY and holds a M.F.A. in Choreography from Jacksonville University, Summa Cum Laude. As of Fall 2022, she is on faculty at Murray State University as the dance professor for the Department of Global Languages & Theatre Arts. During her M.F.A. career she directed, choreographed, and was a performer in her first full-length choreographic work “The Network Effect,” which premiered in March of 2020 at the Robert E. Johnson Theatre.
She has been a featured dancer and soloist in the works of many professional choreographers, including Ana Sanchez-Colberg’s 7 to the Seventh, a global live stream dance performance as part of the Jacksonville crew. In addition, she graduated from Murray State University in 2016 with a B.A. in Theatre, Performance Emphasis. In her time at MSU she was given the Diane O’Brien Dance Scholarship, awarded the title of “Outstanding Senior in Theatre,” and graduated Summa Cum Laude as well. She has trained and studied with the Nashville Ballet Company and is an official alumna of both the Rockettes Summer Intensive Program and the Broadway Dance Center Training Program in New York City, having been mentored by Lizz Picini, Lane Napper of Victorious!, Jill Kenney, and many others. Through the BDC program she is certified as a specialist in Theatre style dance, Jazz, and Tap. She is also a 250-hour Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance.
Her debut as choreographer was at Murray State University for The Tempest in 2015, and she was officially brought onto production as choreographer for Curtains! the following fall. She has since worked proudly as a choreographer at MSU for shows including The Glass Menagerie, Frankenstein, Little Shop of Horrors, Crazy For You, and for the Campus Lights production of Sister Act. In 2016, Cassidy worked at Stagedoor Manor in Loch Sheldrake, New York, one of the top theatre focused summer camps in the industry, as a choreographer, teaching artist, and counselor. She worked for Florida Repertory Theatre in Fort Meyers, Florida the following year as their choreographer and teaching artist for their summer education programming. Cassidy is very excited to work with all of the dancers who come through her doors, and she cannot wait to see where God takes her on this journey.
TEACHING ARTIST
Ms. Megan is a passionate and enthusiastic dance instructor committed to helping her students reach their full potential. Currently, she is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Human Services from Murray State University, with minors in Psychology and Dance & Movement. Megan received her formal dance training from Mainstage School of Performing Arts in Paducah, KY where she also had the privilege of dancing as a Stangette with the nationally ranked McCracken County Dance Team. During this time, she was honored as a National Dance Alliance All-American Nominee and a Governor's School for the Arts Dance Finalist. She has also performed as a featured dancer in the Mainstage production for Chicago and the McCracken Co. Theatre production of Beauty and the Beast. Ms. Megan is thrilled to share her love of dance with her students at Indigo Dance Collective, empowering them to shine both on and off stage!
TEACHING ARTIST
Ms. Emily is a fun loving and passionate dance teacher with experience in hip-hop, contemporary, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and tap. She grew up attending The Rhythm Factory in Paducah, Ky where a majority of her formal training was received. She has not only competed nationally with TRF as a company dancer, but was also captain of the McCracken County High School dance team in their 2016-2017 year. In 2013 she performed as a variation with the Moscow Ballet Company during their U.S. National Tour of the Great Russian Nutcracker. Upon graduation, Ms. Emily went on to receive her Associates degree in Psychology from WKCTC. She has attended multiple dance conventions throughout her career and has been instructed by the likes of Mia Michaels, Alex Wong, and the late Steven "tWitch" Boss. She has been teaching the art of dance since she was 18, and her love for it has simply grown. Her love for her students and watching them succeed is something she is very proud of, and she can't wait to share her passion with everyone here at Indigo Dance Collective!
TEACHING ARTIST
Ms. Gracie is a high energy dance instructor with experience in Cecchetti methodology in ballet, lyrical, contemporary, jazz and more. She is currently attending Murray State University pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Dance and Movement Studies. She received her dance education from Bluegrass Academy of Dance in Murray, KY and began teaching there during her junior year of high school. She was also an assistant choreographer for her high school musical theater program. She has performed in several productions including Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and performed variation en pointe in The Great Russian Nutcracker with the Moscow Ballet Touring Company. However, Gracie feels her highest accomplishment is seeing her students light up the stage! With a focus on technique and strengthening, she assists students in expanding their potential. She is so excited to be teaching at Indigo Dance Collective!
